2IC notes pc version
Thursday notes
- Some clarity from him on given days as to who is managing would be good.
Wednesday notes
- I'd want to be on on the day before a managing day
Monday notes
3 guys: me, sanjeev and Rakesh from 8 to 12? (with breaks) then Ruksen from 1 to 3, we got it out so basically 7 hours 3 guys - and it was 4? 5? pallets plus flowers. per my old theory, 5 guys 5 hours: 3 pallets, 3 guys 2 more hours (almost half of five), 1.5 pallets. i think that's what we did
My phone got hihs text 1 hr late still not good enough
-Tuesday total was 9am 3 pallets and we cleared by 3 but from 1 or something was only 1 guy working on it at a time so two guys 4 hours 2 pallets, 1 guy 2 hours one more... seems faster. (Raj did cuts is why one guy, plus we did breaks). A lot of no-go on the pallets is why
#Pre-Monday plan
- Remember the Floor issue
- Try to recall how he usually delegates the 10AM load lines to ME.
- Also how Raj does it.
#Friday notes
What did I learn on the Friday trial?
'Core lines' more important than gaps, except specials gaps. The stuff that people are coming in for is core and specials.
The Tasks are Gap Scan, General Capture, Paperwork, ...[TBC],
Other things that need to happen than filling are:
- Morning Huddle
- Scan waste as go, otherwise as task before sustainability
- Sustainability
- Re-check the Low-Priority trolley (after Core and Gaps filled, maybe 12?)
- Printing tickets
- Making it look full: Adjust spreads and maybe even move lines (?)
- Ice (twice)
- Breaks (me and TM)
- DM Meetings
Timing notes
- Two Guys from 9 to 3 with all the other interruptions did
- half bananas, 1/4 pallet of outside
- four '1/3 of' pallets
- one cage
- fill watermelon cuts
- 'One Pallet per 6 hours per person'??
- Two Guys from 9 to 3 with all the other interruptions did
Kids fruit need more practise
What did I do wrong?
Made trollies instead of delegating
Mixed trollies (why? 'gaps' tunnel vision)
- Strawberries twice
- bits and bobs of bananas (so it wasn't ever full which it could have been)
Taking too long touring and building the picture without a trolley, I could have done that while filling a trolley.
Didn't communicate my activities.
Didn't give enough instructions (he fill home location first)
I thought that 'Processing the Load' was 'done' when we got to the point of having a trolley or two's worth of crates left on the pallets. To me that meant we could throw them onto trolleys, stack the pallets and that was the load done. But it isn't! Because then if say, I started markdowns, and he had to do PDQ, the rest of shift, then the Night Guy would have to be running Load that wasn't Overs.
That's not to even mention the yesterday's Overs that we are supposed to run in the day shift, I think.
I didn't BULK the bulk stuff. There's bulk stuff and you... get it all out in bulk (Question for myself - why? I guess less TM moving from one line to another. Makes instanly a lot of space in the coolroom)
Ignored the kids fruit
Questions for Monday
- What lines are core?
- Did the gap scan screen show how much is in the last delivery?
- Is it part of the day shift to run all yesterday's overs?
- When to move lines like Raj/Sid do?
- How many pallets can one team member do in 5 hours? Or how long to do one?
- HEADSET
- PARKING
Notes on Gap Scan
- Scan a low or weird-level looking line. Reconcile the count with what's on the floor plus in the back. You estimate what's on the floor, and you know what's in the back because of the date of delivery: A long time ago, nothing's in the back. Today's load, it's in the back. But how much? He said I won't need the load sheet.
